SON OF A POLICEMAN, or SOAP, is the classic all-Malaysian band. Based in Subang Jaya, the #SabunSix are the pioneers of a new brand of indiepop they affectionately call "indie rojak" — a genre that borrows the name for a famous Malaysian dish and combines the members' many musical influences into a dizzyingly delicious dish of aural rojak. The band was formed in 2012, and has played big shows and festivals such as Rockaway 2016, and the Tiger Jams 2016 series of shows with Singaporean pop band The Sam Willows and Scottish synth-pop band Chvrches. It has released one single, "Euphoria", and is currently working on releasing its next, yet-to-be-announced single.
